Voice Status Updates

WhatsApp is gearing up to roll out a new 'Voice Status Updates' feature on Android beta that will allow users to share voice notes in status.

Beta testers can now share voice notes as status updates by accessing a new feature in the Text Status section, according to Wabeta Info.

The greatest recording time for voice notes is 30 seconds, clients need to refresh their variant of WhatsApp to pay attention to voice notes shared through status.

Voice notes shared through Status will be end-to-end encrypted and can only be heard by those users select in their privacy settings.

Like photos and videos, voice notes shared via status will disappear after 24 hours.

Users can also delete a voice note after posting it as a status update. The new feature will roll out to more users in the coming weeks, the report said.

 

'Block' shortcut

The messaging platform is also working on a new 'Block' shortcut feature that will provide users with a block shortcut within a notification.

The stage is wanting to present this new block easy route inside the notice, the block shortcut will be visible only when users receive a message from an unknown number. The new alternate way will be delivered in the following update of the application.

Shortcut to block unwanted numbers

The messaging platform is also working on a new shortcut within the chat option within the chat list to block a number instantly. This feature will make it easier and faster than ever to block unwanted contacts saving time without opening the message.

Switch camera mode

The company is also working on a new switch camera mode that will allow users to switch between camera and video mode.

Currently, users have to tap and hold to record a video which is complicated when recording a long video, but soon users will be able to switch to video mode with just one tap in the future. The recording will be easier.

The report states that the new camera mode is currently being developed for iPhone users and will be released in a future update.
