monthly fee for certified accounts.
Meta, the company that owns the world's largest social
media platforms Facebook and Instagram, announced that it is considering
charging $11.99 per month for web and $14.99 per month for mobile for Instagram
and Facebook.
The company is introducing this feature first in
Australia and New Zealand, after which it will be rolled out to other countries
gradually.
Mark Zuckerberg, founder, and CEO of Meta announced that
the Meta Verified account will provide users with a verified badge, increased
ability to upload faster across all platforms, priority customer support, and
more.
Mark Zuckerberg added that a user wishing to obtain a
Meta Verified account must meet minimum activity requirements, be 18 years of
age or older and provide official identification documents as proof.
