Facebook and Instagram's announcement to charge a fee for "Blue tick"

 Meta owner Zuckerberg announced the launch of this paid subscription service



Meta, the parent company of social networking sites Facebook and Instagram, has announced that it will provide verified accounts to its users for a monthly fee.

 

According to AFP, Zuckerberg, the owner of Meta, announced the launch of this paid subscription service on Sunday.

Now Facebook users have to pay a monthly fee of 11.99 dollars to verify their account.

Mark Zuckerberg said that this is a new feature to increase the security and transparency of Meta’s services.

The new Facebook and Instagram service will launch in Australia and New Zealand this week, while BlueTick subscriptions will launch later in the US and other countries.
